We are now into week 8 of our veggie garden. Now officially, it's the growing season. Looking at where we are in the garden, everything is on track. Had a few issues with snails, but have them under control now. Had a few hot days, but managed to keep everything happy. Won't be too long - maybe another few weeks - before we start harvesting the lettuce, carrots, and cherry tomatoes too. Might start fruiting soon, but they still have months to go. So, looking at where they are now, they're going to be very successful.
Broad beans are starting to flower, so same with them - should start to harvest maybe just after Christmas. I've only added potatoes to the side garden so far since we started the garden. I'm also waiting on shoots from a sweet potato that I've sought to sprout, so work in progress there. The cucumber and rockmelon should start to pump up over the next month, so happy with their progress too.
All in all, everything is sweet as in the Te Puni Veggie Garden. Great summer weather, holiday season upon us - what more can you ask for?
